RAWALPINDI: A damage assessment report and photographs related to the May 9 GHQ attack case were submitted to the court, while two more witnesses recorded their statements on Saturday.
The hearing was conducted by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Amjad Ali Shah, with PTI founder Imran Khan present in the courtroom.
The prosecution recorded the testimonies of Constable Imran and SDO Owais Shah. Constable Imran, who documented the damage on May 9, submitted 15 photographs as evidence.
Meanwhile, SDO Buildings Owais Shah, who assessed the damages, recorded his statement and presented an official damage estimate report.
According to the report, the attack on GHQ caused financial losses amounting to Rs780,000. However, two additional witnesses could not record their statements due to incomplete copies of supplementary reports. Additionally, 13 USB drives containing digital evidence were submitted to the court. The court said that lawyers could obtain copies of the cleaned USBs for review.
The court also summoned the Rawalpindi SSP operations for failing to provide additional reports from FIA, PEMRA, Internal Security, and PID to the accused. However, the SSP operations did not appear during the hearing. The court then directed the police to submit all pending reports to the defence lawyers before the next hearing.
During the proceedings, the ATC extended Bushra Bibi’s interim bail in 31 cases related to the November 26 protests until February 8. Judge Amjad Ali Shah also directed that she would complete the investigation in these cases before February 8 and appear in court on the same date. The court issued notices to PID, PEMRA, and FIA while also serving a notice to SSP operations for failing to submit the complete internal security report. The GHQ attack case hearing was adjourned until February 6.
