MILAN: Daniel Maldini, the son of Italian football icon Paolo Maldini, has signed for Atalanta from Monza, his new club announced on Saturday.
“Atalanta are happy to announce the permanent signing of Daniel Maldini from Monza,” the Bergamo-based team said in a statement. Italian media report that Atalanta paid around 11 million euros for attacker Maldini, with half of that fee going to AC Milan who sold the 23-year-old to Monza in January last year. Maldini has reportedly signed a contract until June 2029 with Atalanta, who sit third in Serie A, seven points behind league leaders Napoli, ahead of their home fixture with Torino on Saturday.
