PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister Muzammil Aslam has said that the KP government has released Rs 30 billion for the Annual Development Programme (ADP), which includes funds for settled, merged districts, and AIP development projects.
In a statement regarding the release of Annual Development Programme funds and outstanding payments from the federal government, he said that these funds were released in January, not June.
The Advisor to the KP Chief Minister on Finance and Inter-Provincial Coordination stated that following the instructions of the chief minister, the provincial government would spend more than the allocated development budget and would not compromise on the surplus budget targets set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Aslam criticised the federal government for not releasing development funds for the merged districts, while the provincial government has released funds from its own budget to maintain continuity in development projects. Muzammil Aslam emphasised that KP is the only province with outstanding payments from the federal government, totaling over Rs 2000 billion.“If the arrears of the merged areas are also added to the outstanding payments then it will be more than Rs 2500 billion,” maintained.
