PARACHINAR : The district administration completed a survey of the damage in Bagan area in Kurram tribal district and deputy commissioner has sought Rs600 million from the provincial government for compensation, sources said on Thursday.
According to the survey, 700 shops and over 300 houses had been damaged along with 2 petrol pumps, 12 vehicles and 200 livestock.
A committee had been formed under the leadership of the Kohat commissioner to assess the damage, verify claims, distribute compensation funds, and oversee other related matters.
The committee consisted of the DC Kurram, DirectorGeneral of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and officials from other departments.
When contacted, Advisor to Chief Minister onInformation Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the affectees of Kurram tribal district would be compensated as per the survey report of losses received so far.
“Peace has been restored in Kurram, and the process of dismantling bunkers is going on under the agreement,” he said.
