Tessori optimistic about Fuuast’s future at varsity’s fifth convocation

The fifth convocation of the Federal Urdu University of Art, Science and Technology (Fuuast) was recently held at the Governor House in Karachi, in which a total of 97 gold, 18 silver and 12 bronze medals and certificates were awarded to 231 students from 37 different departments.

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, who was the chief guest of the convocation, congratulated all the graduating students stating that it was a day of pride for them.

He termed the ceremony an important milestone in the history of Fuuast as its successful students had completed an important stage of their lives today as a result of dedication, quest and perseverance in acquiring knowledge.

The governor said he was aware that the varsity was currently facing various problems.

He added that he was sure that Fuuast Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Zabta Khan Shinwari and his team would soon overcome this crisis.

He said the students should consider their success a step towards fulfilling their dreams and the parents of students should not be disappointed about the future of their children.

Tessori was of the view that highly educated women were our future and the parents should make their daughters useful citizens of society.

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also congratulated the graduating students. He said Sir Syed Ahmed Khan founded a college that later developed and became the Aligarh University, which played a key role in the creation of Pakistan.

Dr Siddiqui said Pakistan was created under an ideology and promise.

He said developing countries had been making progress by adopting their own language and the Pakistanis should also own the Urdu language.

The VC said it was a pleasure to hold a convocation of Fuusat after a long time.

He added that the federal education minister as well as MNA Syed Aminul Haque took personal interest in the convocation, which made the event possible. He said FUUAST was grateful to Dr Siddiqui and Haque.

The VC vowed that from now on, a regular convocation would be held every year for the graduating students of Fuuast. He said the varsity would also be counted among the leading universities of Pakistan.
