PESHAWAR: In line with the directives of the provincial government, the officials have launched a major crackdown against the illegal transportation of minerals in Hassankhel and Badaber areas in the provincial capital following public complaints.

During the operation, several trucks carrying illegally excavated minor minerals were seized, and their owners were taken into custody. Additionally, the transportation of timber was thoroughly inspected to ensure that forest resources were not being exploited unlawfully. Investigations revealed that most transporters possessed valid permits issued by the Forest Department; however, suspicious cases are being further examined.

Deputy Commissioner, Peshawar, Sarmad Saleem Akram has issued clear directives for the continuous monitoring of such sites and strict legal action against violators.

He has instructed all relevant departments, including the local police, the Forest Department, and the Minerals Department, to take joint measures to curb illegal mining and transportation activities and to take immediate action against any violations.
