KARACHI: Standard Chartered Pakistan underscored its commitment to sustainable finance by serving as the platinum sponsor of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (OICCI) 3rd Pakistan Climate Conference.
The event, held at Movenpick Hotel in Karachi, convened business leaders, policymakers and sustainability experts to address climate change mitigation strategies.
Head of Sustainable Finance for the Middle East, Pakistan, and Africa at Standard Chartered Lina Osman participated in a panel discussion focused on ‘Accelerating Decarbonisation: Strategies for Mitigation, Innovation, and Climate Resilience’. Osman emphasised the importance of decarbonizing supply chains, establishing measurable key performance indicators for clients, developing innovative financing solutions, and utilising incentives to promote sustainable transitions.
The conference culminated in the inaugural Climate Excellence Awards, where Standard Chartered Pakistan received recognition for its leadership in green financing. The award further solidifies the bank’s dedication to fostering sustainable economic growth in Pakistan.
