Wahab inaugurates road linking District South to Keamari
Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Wednesday announced the completion of a crucial road linking District South to Keamari, describing it as a significant gift from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to the city’s residents, fishermen, and oil marketing companies.
The road is essential for transporting oil from the Keamari Oil Terminal to the rest of Pakistan and was a vital artery for the city’s fish market. The project, which cost over Rs134 million, fulfilled a longstanding need by connecting Mauripur Town to Saddar Town.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, which took place at China Gate, Keamari, Mayor Wahab emphasised that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was committed to serving the people of Karachi without discrimination.
The event was attended by several key figures, including Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Member of the National Assembly Asif Khan, Town Chairman Humayun Khan, Deputy Parliamentary Leader of the City Council Dil Muhammad, UC Chairmen, and other City Council members.
Wahab noted that this inauguration marked the successful completion of the road’s reconstruction, signalling a tangible commitment to action. He pointed out that just a few months ago, the area lacked a proper road, leading to hours-long traffic congestion.
