BAHAWALPUR: Jamaat-e-Islami Parliamentary Leader in the Punjab Assembly MPA Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar Monday said Panama Leaks had provided a golden opportunity in Pakistan to complete accountability of every countryman.
Talking to reporters at an Iftar dinner in a local hotel organised by JI Bahawalpur, the MPA asked the rulers not to avoid accountability process and initiate investigation, otherwise the JI would launch a campaign for accountability of those politicians who are mentioned by Panama papers.
The JI leader said more than 57 per cent of Punjab development budget could not utilized. He called for a mechanism to ensure complete utilization of development budget.
CRACKDOWN ON GAMBLING: Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur Dr Ahsan Sadiq Monday intensified crackdown on narcotics, gambling dens and brothels. The RPO formed a special police team headed by DSP organized crime Mian Arshad in this connection.
