PESHAWAR: A Services Club, modeled after the Peshawar Club, will be established on 34 kanals of reclaimed land at the intersection of Ring Road and Hayatabad as part of the Peshawar Uplift Programme Phase II.
The initiative, approved by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, is aimed at providing modern recreational facilities for the city’s residents, said an official communique, adding Commissioner, Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud is overseeing the project under the Peshawar Uplift Programme.
The reclaimed land, previously occupied by encroachers, will now be transformed into a state-of-the-art facility featuring a family park, restaurant, jogging track, restrooms, tennis court, swimming pool, and other amenities. The commissioner has instructed the project engineer to prepare the PC-1 and submit a detailed report without delay.
Highlighting the significance of the project, Riaz Khan Mahsud said the initiative reflected the provincial government’s commitment to the “Clean and Green Peshawar” campaign. He stressed the importance of creating spaces that promote healthy activities and announced plans to identify and utilize more suitable locations for similar projects across Peshawar.
