On behalf of the EOBI Pensioners Welfare Association (EPWA) and other stakeholders, we earnestly request that the pension amount be raised and aligned with the minimum wage level. Pensioners across the country continue to receive an average monthly pension of around Rs10,000. Increasing the pension amount to at least the minimum wage level will significantly improve the quality of life for senior citizens, many of whom struggle to meet basic needs.
We, therefore, reiterate our urgent request to increase the pension amount to reflect the institution’s financial strength and fulfil its responsibility to support pensioners’ survival and dignity.
