KARACHI: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organised a seminar on Monday on wood identification, quality assessment and export procedures at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), aiming to strengthen the furniture export sector.
The event drew a significant number of stakeholders, including manufacturers, exporters, and traders from the furniture industry. Director-general of TDAP’s Engineering Division-II Khalid Rasool reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to export-led growth and encouraged stakeholders to leverage TDAP’s international exhibitions, trade delegations and flagship events to explore global opportunities.
Experts from the Pakistan Forest Institute and TDAP provided detailed technical insights, covering wood identification, quality standards, and export protocols. The business community applauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of collaboration among TDAP, trade bodies, provincial wood-working centres, and the Pakistan Forest Institute to bolster the sector’s international competitiveness.
TDAP assured continued support to help furniture manufacturers and exporters expand their footprint in global markets, further positioning the industry as a key contributor to Pakistan’s trade growth.
