Inquiry ordered into video involving traffic cop, woman

ABBOTTABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara Region, Nasir Mehmood Sati has taken immediate notice of an incident pertaining to a brawl and ordered an inquiry into it.

The inquiry team, comprising senior police officers, will consider all evidence to ensure that justice was served.

The incident in question involves a viral video from Garhi Habibullah area of Mansehra district.

In one video, a veiled woman was seen slapping a highway traffic police officer, while in the second video, a traffic police officer was seen slapping a woman.

The Mansehra Police issued a press release stating that DIG Hazara had ordered an inquiry into the incident.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mansehra Shafiullah Gandapur has taken notice of the public protest and road closure that followed the incident. The protest was suspended through a jirga attended by police officers, highway police officials, and the affected family.

Muhammad Saleh, a local leader, filed a complaint with the Garhi Habibullah Police Station, alleging that the police officer involved in the incident was made to apologise and was slapped by the woman in question.
