‘Transparency being ensured in CM Heart Surgery Programme’

LAHORE:The Punjab government is ensuring transparency in the entire system of pediatric heart surgery Programme. No negligence will be tolerated in the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Programme.

Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said this while presiding over a meeting at Children’s Hospital Lahore on Wednesday regarding the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Programme. During the meeting, the provincial health minister reviewed the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Programme and rehabilitation centres in detail.

Khawaja Salman said on this occasion that the coordination of the relevant departments is being further improved to make the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Programme successful. Feedback has been taken from all the relevant government and private children’s hospitals regarding this Programme. Since the launch, more than 1,800 innocent children have undergone successful surgeries under the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Programme.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor University of Child Health Sciences Prof Masood Sadiq, Dr. Farqad Alamgir, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Junaid Rashid, MD Children's Hospital Lahore Prof Tipu Sultan, faculty members and participants through video link. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Advisory Committee for Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Lahore was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique in the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education.

Provincial Health Minister reviewed the ongoing progress at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research during the meeting. Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University Prof Mahmood Ayaz and relevant officers also gave a briefing in this regard. Khawaja Salman Rafique said that during the meeting, various suggestions and opinions were discussed in detail to finalize the HR at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research. Work on Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research is underway at a rapid pace.
