CM Special Transplant Programme from Feb 1
LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has announced that the Chief Minister’s Special Initiative for Transplant Programme will start from February 1, 2025.
The provincial health minister made this announcement while addressing the 90th meeting of the Board of Directors of Punjab Health Initiative Management Company (PHIMC) on Tuesday. He said that historic steps are being taken in the health sector under the leadership of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. CM Dialysis Programme, Special Initiative for Transplant Programme and Children’s Heart Surgery Programme are flagship programmes in the health sector of the Punjab govt.
The provincial health minister said that PHIMC has been made the executing agency to ensure the implementation of these three programmes. The entire system of CM Special Initiative for Transplant Programme has been made highly transparent. CM Children’s Heart Surgery Programme is being successfully implemented, he added. Three agendas of PHIMC were presented during the meeting. The minutes of the 89th meeting of the Board of Directors of PHIMC were approved during the meeting. A detailed review of the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Programme was also taken during the meeting.
Secretary Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Azmat Mahmood, Dr Adnan Khan and Advocate Supreme Court Sultan Mahmood participated in the meeting through video link. CEO PHIMC Dr Ali Razaq, CEO Punjab Healthcare Commission Dr Saqib Aziz, Dr. Zahid Pervez, Director PITB Nosheen Fayyaz, Dr Shujaat Ali, Parveen Agha, Member Health P&D Shafaat Ali, Additional Secretary Finance Dept Bilal Ahmed and others also participated.
Meanwhile, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique attended a one-day refresher training of entomologists and environment inspectors at the Institute of Public Health (IPH). He distributed certificates of appreciation among entomologists and environment inspectors on this occasion. Khawaja Salman on this occasion said that this year, we will respond better in the dengue season. All the relevant departments will have to work hard to remove the shortcomings left in the last dengue season. Entomologists and environment inspectors play a key role in controlling any disease outbreak. Chairman Task Force Adnan Afzal Chattha said that Punjab CM is currently taking historic steps for the welfare of the people. Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Services Department Punjab Ziaullah Shah said that first of all, we pay tribute to the class serving the suffering humanity.
