Fazl says KP burning
Fazl says that people should not be misled by such fake elections
CHARSADDA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman said on Saturday that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was burning in fire but there was no government to restore lasting peace to the region.
“It is not clear who is running the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The same situation applies to the federal government, where incompetent people are in power. The current assemblies hold no value as they came into existence after fake elections,” he said while addressing the graduation ceremony of students who completed their studies of Sahih Bukhari at Darul Uloom Islamia here. Former lawmaker and Darul Uloom Islamia head Maulana Syed Gohar Shah was also present on the occasion.
“Our land is replete with everything, including mines and minerals, but due to incompetent rulers, we are deprived of them,” the JUIF chief complained.
He said that people should not be misled by such fake elections. He referred to the elections held by former Bangladesh prime minister Hasina Wajid and asked what happened to her as a result.
He said that this country was created with the slogan of Islam for which Ulema had rendered matchless sacrifices.
“Even today, it is the religious scholars who remain loyal to this country. This country is ours, and we want peace in it. We have always spoken to you in a soft tone, with logic and reasoning. We want you to understand our words and act upon them. If you do not understand, tomorrow you will be facing us directly,” he warned the rulers.
He said that this country was not a private property of any individual rather a shared homeland of all the countrymen. “Students of madrassas, landlords, bureaucrats and people from the establishment all possess the same national identity card, therefore, no one should claim that this country belongs to them,” he said.
The Maulana said that if religious scholars were not present in parliament, the name of Islam would not have been included in the Constitution.
He said that they were asked to pass the 26th Constitutional Amendment blindly. “If that draft had passed, it would have further weakened parliament’s position. After a month of negotiations, we removed 36 clauses from it,” the Maulana told the gathering.
