Islamabad: In a shocking incident, officials of the Dolphin Patrolling Force allegedly shot a young pedestrian near Faizabad after he resisted an attempt to take his mobile phone and cash, police sources reported on Tuesday.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was rushed to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in critical condition. Hospital sources later confirmed that his condition has stabilized and he is now out of danger.

In his statement, the victim claimed that the assailants were wearing Islamabad police uniforms. However, Islamabad police denied any involvement, stating that the incident occurred within Rawalpindi’s jurisdiction. They also declined to take up the case.

Subsequently, the Rawalpindi police registered a case and initiated an investigation to identify the perpetrators and determine whether they were genuine Dolphin Force officers or impersonators.

The incident has sparked serious concerns about public safety and the accountability of law enforcement agencies. Authorities have assured the public of a thorough investigation to ensure the culprits are brought to justice. This alarming episode highlights the need for greater oversight and stricter regulations for patrolling forces to maintain public trust and safety.
