LAHORE: Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram has officially unveiled the iconic white jacket for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, marking the tournament’s highly anticipated return after an eight-year hiatus.

The prestigious tournament, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025, will feature the world’s top eight cricket nations competing in 15 matches over 19 days. Each match promises high stakes in what is considered the ICC’s most intense tournament format.

“The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy represents the best of the best,” said Akram at the unveiling ceremony. “The white jacket symbolizes greatness and will build excitement across the global cricket community. Every game is a pressure game with no room for breaks - only the strongest team will emerge victorious.”

The white jacket, long considered a badge of honor in cricket’s elite circles, has been showcased in a promotional video featuring Akram. The video emphasizes how these jackets represent tactical brilliance and determination, with teams putting “All On The Line” in pursuit of both the Champions Trophy and the coveted white jacket.

Akram, whose illustrious career spans three decades, highlighted how the jacket has become a symbol of cricketing excellence and inspiration for future generations. The tournament’s format ensures every match is crucial, with teams having to maintain peak performance throughout the competition.

The Champions Trophy’s return promises to deliver intense cricket action, as eight of the world’s top teams compete in what is widely regarded as cricket’s most challenging tournament format, where a single defeat could end a team’s championship hopes.

This will be the first Champions Trophy since Pakistan’s victory in the 2017 edition, adding extra significance to the tournament’s return to the international cricket calendar.
