Demo against loadshedding
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: A large number of residents of Basti Atawali, Samanabad, Chandawala and shopkeepers of Rail Bazaar and other localities on Friday staged a demonstration against the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) Jhang circle officers for conducting unscheduled loadshedding.
The protesters reached the main grid station on Toba Road to record their protest against loadshedding. Talking to newsmen outside the grid station, the protesters said that they were facing low voltage. They have demanded the Water and Power secretary and the Fesco CEO take notice of the Jhang circle load management plan, which was allegedly prepared in the favour of Civil Lines and other posh localities.
PROFITEERS WARNED: Acting DCO Shaukat Ali Khichi has directed the officials concerned to take action against the hoarders and profiteers during the holy month of Ramazan.
He issued the directions while reviewing progress of eight Ramazan bazaars of the district. He said that flour, sugar and other 13 food items were being provided on subsidised rates. Meanwhile, Faisalabad Regional Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana visited Jhang and issued special directions for security of Ramazan bazaars. He said that police should work with commitment and dedication to maintain the law and order. The RPO also issued instructions for foolproof security for all mosques and sensitive places. He warned that any negligence or lethargy would not be tolerated in this regard.
