Rallies against drone attack

HAFIZABAD: Activists of Sunni Tehrik and Difa-e-Pakistan Council on Friday took out rallies against the US drone attack in Balochistan.

They raised slogans against the United States for interfering in the geographical frontiers of Pakistan and patronising India to ruin the peace in the region. They condemned the nefarious designs of anti-state and anti-Islam forces to harm the country. They said that the whole nation was with the armed forces to meet any challenge.

 

Man drowns

HAFIZABAD: A man drowned in a canal here on Friday.

Gulfam of Kot Ladha was swimming in a canal near Muradian when he drowned. The body of Gulfam could not be recovered till the filing of the report.

OBITUARY: Mother of former DBA president Syed Nasir Hussain Sherazi and DHQ Hospital DMS Dr Syed Nusrat Abbas Sherazi died after a protracted illness here. She was laid to rest in a graveyard at Pir Kamal.

 

Gepco flayed for loadshedding

HAFIZABAD: People have criticised Gepco for conducting unscheduled loadshedding during Ramazan.

They said that the power supply remained suspended during Taraveeh and Friday prayers.

Meanwhile, residents of Alipur Road, Kashmir Nagar and Ali Town experienced day-long power loadshedding, which forced them to take out a rally against the Gepco.
