Korangi Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Hussain Khoso is expected to appear before the anti-corruption department today (Friday) to respond to allegations of possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.
It has been reported that the anti-corruption department had previously written to the Korangi deputy commissioner stating that the assistant commissioner be called to the department for an inquiry.
Khoso is accused of acquiring assets in the names of his father, brother and brother-in-law. According to reports, his father Muhammad Ishaq Khoso is a watchman in the food department and yet properties worth millions of rupees have been registered in his name.
His brother Ali Khoso, who is a clerk in the school education department, is also linked with assets allegedly purchased through illegitimate means. Properties have also been registered in the name of his brother-in-law. The anti-corruption department has asked Hussain to bring with him a complete service record, declared assets at the time of joining the civil service, verified records of movable and immovable properties, certified copy of his passport and bank statements of the past five years.
