QUETTA: The Balochistan government has ordered for a transparent investigation into the Zehri incident, after around 70 militants launched an attack and took control of the Zehri area of Khuzdar district on Wednesday.
According to the Home Department, strict action would be taken against the perpetrators.
The provincial government spokesperson said that the protection of the public and the restoration of the state’s writ were the government’s top priorities.
Taking notice of the local administration’s lack of immediate response to the Zehri incident, the Home Department has issued orders to activate the civil administration and prevent any further weaknesses.
Shahid Rind said that law enforcement agencies were closely monitoring the situation, and measures to maintain peace and order had been taken across the province.
The progress of the investigation would be reviewed on a daily basis to ensure that the true facts are be revealed.
The Home Department assured the public that the state’s writ had been established across the province, and no negligence or irresponsibility would be tolerated.
According to the spokesperson, the government is taking measures to improve the performance of the civil administration in all districts to prevent such incidents in the future.
