Crackdown on wage law violators pledged
PESHAWAR: Commissioner, Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud has announced a decisive crackdown on private institutions violating labour laws by failing to pay workers the government-mandated minimum wage of Rs36,000.
Chairing a meeting with deputy commissioners from all the five districts of Peshawar Division, labour department officials, and representatives of the Employees Social Security Institute, Riaz Khan Mahsud directed the formation of special teams to ensure the registration of employees in private industries and institutions. “The rights of labourers are non-negotiable, and we will spare no effort in enforcing labor laws across the board,” he said.To further strengthen oversight, DC have been tasked with appointing assistant commissioners to recover outstanding dues from industries and private institutions.
