PESHAWAR: A woman resident of Takhtabad in Shah Alam Tehsil has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other high-ranking officials to take immediate action for the recovery of her missing husband.

Speaking at a press conference, Sana, wife of Umar Farooq, demanded the registration of an FIR against the former SHO of Daudzai Police Station, Nasir Fareed Khattak, and other officials after alleging that they were involved in the disappearance of her husband.

The woman along with her mother-in-law and other relatives alleged that four months ago, former SHO Nasir Fareed Khattak, along with other police personnel, conducted an illegal nighttime raid at their home, violating the sanctity of their household.

She said during the raid, her husband Umar Farooq, her brother, and her 15-year-old nephew Rohullah were taken away. The woman said her nephew was released without any legal proceedings, while her brother was falsely implicated in a case and produced before the court on the fifth day. However, her husband Umar Farooq remains missing.

She stated despite submitting both written and verbal complaints to senior police officials, no progress had been made in locating her husband, nor had any information been provided about his whereabouts. An FIR against the SHO and other officers involved has not been registered, even though there are eyewitnesses to the incident.

Sana described her husband as a daily wage worker in the scrap business, earning an honest livelihood to support his family. The woman asserted that he was not involved in any illegal activities. She appealed to the authorities to take action against the SHO and other officials and to ensure her husband’s safe release from their alleged custody.
