LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the foreign players’ Silver category list and revised pick order for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 draft. With preparations for the event intensifying, the PCB shared significant updates to ensure a smoother and more competitive draft process.

The Silver category boasts a rich mix of international talent from 20 nations, highlighting the global appeal of the PSL. Players from the USA, Australia, West Indies, Zimbabwe, and several other cricketing nations, including Afghanistan, Canada, and Nepal, are set to make their mark. This diversity provides PSL franchises with a wide array of talent to strengthen their squads for the 10th season.

The PCB has introduced structural changes to the draft categories as the Platinum Categories is reduced from three to two; Diamond categories is reduced from three to one; gold categories is trimmed from three to two and silver categories is reduced from five to three.

This reduction is aimed at simplifying the selection process, fostering competitiveness, and ensuring higher-quality picks in each category. The PCB also confirmed the updated pick order for the draft:

Platinum 1 Category: Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United. Platinum 2 Category: Quetta Gladiators will make the opening pick, followed by Karachi Kings, giving these franchises an early advantage in strengthening their squads. Initially scheduled for Gwadar, the draft will now take place at the historic Huzuri Bagh, Lahore, on January 13.
