KARACHI: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released the results of its Quality of Service (QoS) survey for the third quarter of 2024, conducted across 18 cities in Pakistan.
The survey evaluated the performance of cellular mobile operators (CMOs) based on Cellular Mobile Network QoS Regulations, said a press release on Wednesday.The results ranked Zong among the top performers, excelling in key metrics such as network coverage, mobile broadband, voice and SMS services. The company demonstrated strong performance in mobile broadband services, recording an download throughput of 21.7 Mbps and low latency, contributing to a seamless browsing experience.
Zong’s leadership in network coverage was supported by the rollout of over 1,000 new 4G sites in 2024, highlighting its focus on infrastructure development and service quality. The survey further indicated consistent performance in voice and SMS services, meeting quality benchmarks and customer expectations.
The PTA report underscores the progress of the country’s telecom sector in providing improved services and advancing digital connectivity. The findings also highlight the growing importance of reliable mobile networks in enabling communication and supporting economic growth.
The PTA’s QoS survey serves as a benchmark for monitoring telecom performance and encouraging operators to enhance service delivery, ultimately benefitting consumers and promoting a more connected Pakistan.
