ISLAMABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court Duty Judge Tahir Abbas Supra on Monday adjourned the hearing of post-arrest bail applications of 250 accused involved in cases related to the D-Chowk protest on November 26.
During the hearing, the accused’s lawyers, including Ansar Kayani, Sardar Masroof, Aman Ali, Fathullah Barki, and others, appeared before the court. Judge Supra said that many of the accused in these cases had already been granted bail, while others had been released. He said, “This court has also granted bail to sick individuals and children.” The judge instructed the lawyers to attach copies of the orders granting bail in these cases.
Responding to this, the prosecutor commented that the lawyers of the accused should have attached the relevant decisions, but they had failed to do so. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra said, “We will keep all these applications for Wednesday,” adding that the presiding judge would resume proceedings on that day.
However, the prosecutor requested that the court schedule the hearing for Friday or Saturday instead. Ultimately, the court adjourned the case until January 9.
