Negotiations only way out of problems: Tarar
Minister extends congratulations to participating teams and pledges to reward those who excel in game
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has congratulated the Jang Group on organising a Media Cricket League, emphasising the importance of promoting and showcasing positive activities in the country.
He also commended the sponsors for their role in making the event a success.
The minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Media Cricket League held at Shalimar Ground, Islamabad, on Tuesday.
“There is a need to promote sports and other positive activities that provide the youth and working individuals an outlet for their emotions,” Tarar said.
He extended his congratulations to all the participating teams and pledged to reward those who excel in various aspects of the game.
The minister expressed excitement about the Champions Trophy Cricket, set to begin on February 19, saying that the entire nation eagerly anticipates welcoming international teams.
“We have the potential to host mega events, as demonstrated in the past. Pakistan had recently hosted the SCO Summit, reaffirming its ability to successfully organise major international gatherings,” Tarar said.
Looking ahead, he predicted that 2025 would bring prosperity and success for Pakistan. “We hope to excel on all fronts and achieve great milestones for the country in 2025,” he said.
Tarar also stressed the importance of unity. “Together, we can make a significant difference. Negotiations are the only solution to our problems. Politicians must engage in dialogue to resolve political issues,” he added. He highlighted the progress Pakistan is making. “The country is moving in the right direction. The stock exchange has shown remarkable growth recently. Positive indicators are emerging across all sectors. We are providing the masses with the most affordable internet access. Even our adversaries are left with no choice but to acknowledge our policies,” he said.
The minister underscored the importance of keeping sports and politics separate. “The government is working tirelessly to uplift sports in Pakistan,” he maintained.
Those attended the event included Mubashar Hassan (PIO), Badar Shahbaz (Media Coordinator to the PM), Iram Shahzad (CEO, Linkers Advertising), Syed Amjad Ali (Director of Marketing, North-Jang), Aamir Ghauri (Resident Editor, The News), Hafiz Tahir Khalil (Editor, Daily Jang), and Usman Jahangir (GM Sales, Blue World City).
