Rs120m reallocated for education ministry

Islamabad: The cabinet's Economic Coordination Committee has approved the reallocation of Rs120.822 million as a technical supplementary grant to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

Officials said the ministry had asked for the TSG of Rs1.5 billion to increase the salaries of faculty members under the Tenure Track System, which had not been revised since 2021. They said the request was approved by the ECC during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb here.

The other participants included Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik, Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Parvez Malik and federal secretaries and senior officers from relevant ministries and divisions. The officials said the ECC also approved a TSG of Rs5.276 million for the National Commission on the Status of Women, which involved the reallocation of funds from the Ministry of Human Rights.
