CDA reviews progress on projects
Islamabad:The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has undertaken the task for the beautification and uplift of the Islamabad Metropolitan.
The plan include installation of various statues and designs elements are being installed at important roads, median strips, green areas, and other significant locations, modern and beautiful lights permanently alongside major roads. During a meeting at CDA headquarter, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa instructed that modern and beautiful lights be permanently installed along Srinagar Highway and Club Road.
The meeting was called to review progress on new projects and initiatives and it was attended by CDA members and relevant senior officers. Randhawa was briefed on the progress of outsourcing solid waste management services. He was informed that advertisements for the bidding process to outsource solid waste management services had been published in newspapers.
The CDA Chairman directed that a design and plan for upgrading the city’s model nursery be presented, and a business model for the nursery be developed and emphasized the establishment of flower shops and a cafeteria in the One-Window Facilitation Centre. The meeting was informed that the digital smart parking system has been launched at eight different sites in Islamabad.
Randhawa instructed that the digital smart parking system be introduced in the Diplomatic Enclave shuttle service area. He also directed that all payments from citizens in the digital smart parking system be collected online, and no cash payments be accepted under the smart parking initiative. The e-parking so far has been provided at the parking lot of the Centaurus, H-9 Bazaar, F-7 South, F-7 North, Daman-e-Koh, Shakarparian, and Diplomatic Shuttle Service
He said that considering the interest of overseas Pakistanis, additional sectors and plots be offered in Sector C-14. He also directed officials concerned for immediate provision of electricity in Park Enclave III be ensured. Additionally, the meeting reviewed various IT-related initiatives.
Meanwhile, the CDA Chairman accompanied senior officials also visited Jinnah Avene and Serena Chowk projects. Regarding Serena Chowk project, the Chariman was informed that carpeting of underpass towards Khyaban e Suharwardty and other link roads was in final stages of completion. He directed that slip roads along underpass be opended phase-wise to facilitate commuters. He also noted that beautification and horticulture work should also be completed by the opening of two projects at Jinnah Avene and Serena Chowk.
