Customs to face MPCL in hockey final today
KARACHI: Pakistan Customs and Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) Tuesday moved into the final of 68th DHA National Senior Men’s Hockey Championship after defeating their opponents in the semi-finals here at the Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium.
In the first semi-final, Customs defeated NAB 5-2 in the shootout stage after 1-1 draw at the end of the match. Hamza Fayyaz from Customs and Aziz from NBP scored goals. Ghazanfar Ali of Customs was declared man of the match.
In the one-sided second semi-final, Mari Petroleum defeated PAF 2-0. Arshad Liaqat and Hashir Ali scored one goal each for the winners. Collector Pakistan Customs Asif Abbas was the chief guest of the first semi-final while CEO of Aimal Builders Afzal Hameed was the chief guest for the second. The final of the event will be played today (Wednesday).
