Rawalpindi: Imposing heavy fines by the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) based on license category is unacceptable in any case. The district administration and health department’s checking of food points in the name of medical care is also beyond comprehension. We strongly reject the process of giving the Department of Environment the authority to issue consumer licenses. If the price of gas is increased for the food sector, we will take to the streets to protest. Traders pay taxes, so sealing any shop is tantamount to taking away our basic rights, says a press release.

This was decided in monthly meeting of the core committee of the Restaurants Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association (RCSBA) held under the chairmanship of Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry.

On this occasion, Chairman Mumtaz Ahmed informed the esteemed members about the achievements of the association and its future plans. President of the Association, Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, while discussing in detail the recent issues facing the food sector, said that imposing heavy fines by the Punjab Food Authority based on license category is unacceptable in any case. For this, we will have to take timely steps. The Health Department and the Tourism Department are separately concerned about the license.
