LAHORE: Chief Minister Internship Programme is a pivotal initiative aimed at empowering and developing the youth, said Punjab Sports and Youth Affairs Secretary Muzaffar Khan Sial in a meeting held at Punjab Stadium on here on Monday.
The meeting focused on the progress and implementation of the programme. Attendees included Director General Sports and Youth Affairs Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Mian Usman Ali, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, and representatives from the Bank of Punjab and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
During the session, officials from the Bank of Punjab and PITB provided a briefing on the current status of the programme. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the hundreds of applications submitted for the Chief Minister Internship Programme, reflecting the enthusiastic response from the youth.
Secretary Muzaffar Khan Sial directed the officers concerned to resolve any issues related to the programme promptly. He emphasised the importance of this revolutionary initiative, aligned with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister, to foster a constructive role for young people in the nation’s development.
Highlighting the programme's structure, Secretary Sial announced that talented youth would receive a monthly stipend of Rs25,000 for six months. He lauded the young generation’s potential, stating, “Our youngsters are exceptionally talented and can play a crucial role in the progress of the country.”
The second phase of the Chief Minister Internship Programme has seen an overwhelming response, with thousands of applications received so far. Secretary Sial expressed his satisfaction with the interest shown by the youth and reiterated the government’s commitment to nurturing their talents and capabilities.
“The Chief Minister Internship Programme is a testament to Punjab's focus on youth empowerment, equipping them with the tools and opportunities to contribute effectively to the nation’s progress. With its seamless execution, the initiative is set to become a model for youth development across the region. “The Punjab government’s efforts continue to pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for the province’s youth,” added the secretary.
