116 properties sealed; razed

LAHORE: LDA teams conducted a full-scale operation against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters on Monday and sealed and demolished 116 properties.

The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman. LDA teams conducted operations in Gulberg, Faisal Town, New Garden Town, Allama Iqbal Town, Gujarpura, Shadman, Gulshan Ravi.

The properties sealed included private schools, wedding halls, marquees, salons, shops, offices, stores, and others. Several notices were given to these properties before the operation.

Meanwhile, LDA DG chaired a meeting of the LDA Directorate of Education and reviewed proposals to make the LDA schools self-sustainable. The meeting also reviewed reforms in LDA schools.

LDA DG Tahir Farooq called for a plan to improve the quality of education and make schools profitable. The meeting also reviewed other proposals, including increasing the number of admissions in schools, starting a second shift.
