LAHORE: Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police Riffat Mukhtar Raja stressed the importance of stopping fast lane violations on national highways.
He also announced that overloaded vehicles would be restricted from travelling on national highways and motorways, in addition to enforcement measures. He emphasised the need for briefing and enforcement on the use of indicators and side view mirrors.
After assuming charge, IG Riffat Mukhtar Raja visited the Central Region Lahore. The Additional IG Ali Ahmed Saber Kayani, DIG Dar Ali Khattak, DIG Syed Fareed Ali and sector commanders were also present on the occasion.
IG Riffat Mukhtar Raja reiterated that providing convenience to passengers should be the top priority of the Motorway Police. He emphasised that the positive effects of their professional performance should be visible. The Additional IG Ali Ahmed Saber Kayani briefed the IG on the Central Region’s affairs. The Zonal Commanders DIG Dar Ali Khattak and Syed Fareed Ali also briefed the IG on their respective zones. The IG Riffat Mukhtar Raja planted a sapling. Sector commanders from the Central Region also attended the event.
