Punjab CM’s free solar panel scheme deadline ends
Maryam strongly condemned bomb blast in Turbat, and paid tribute to all those who lost their precious lives in explosion
LAHORE: Registration for Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif free Solar Panel Scheme, which was launched to provide permanent relief to people in electricity bills, ended here on Sunday.
Maryam said, “One lakh homes will get free solar panels at a cost of Rs10 billion.” She added, “Homes consuming an average of 200 units of electricity on a single electricity meter will be able to get solar systems. One lakh solar panel systems of 550 and 1100 watts will be given in Punjab.”
The chief minister said, “In June 2025, consumers using up to 200 units will get solar systems through balloting. Solar panel systems will be installed in the homes of successful consumers.”
Maryam Nawaz said registration for CM Punjab solar system can be done from the portal sitting at home. She added, “You can apply for the Scheme on the website https://cmsolarscheme.punjab.gov.pk/.” She underscored, “The bill reference number can also be sent in SMS along with National Identity Card number to 8800. For registration in solar panels, you can also contact the official number 990302024.”
The chief minister said, “The provision of solar panels will provide significant relief to the public in electricity bills. Punjab will be made a hub of renewable energy.”
Maryam Nawaz said, “Agricultural tube wells will also be gradually converted to solar energy.” She added, “Giving one lakh e-bikes to students and introducing e-buses will change the traditional transport culture in the province.”
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab in her message on Kashmir’s Right to Self-Determination Day said: “Right to Self-Determination Day is a day to salute the struggle for freedom of the oppressed Kashmiris. Pakistan will continue to fully support the right of Kashmiris to self-determination. The Government of Pakistan is highlighting the Kashmir cause at all relevant forums.”
The chief minister said, “The United Nations recognized the right of Kashmiris to self-determination on January 5, 1949. International community should play its role in providing legitimate rights to the Kashmiri people.” She said, “Kashmiri brothers and sisters have been facing Indian atrocities and barbarity for decades. We pay rich tribute to Kashmiri martyrs on Right to Self-Determination Day.” The chief minister said, “Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir and the struggle of Kashmiri people is our own struggle.”
Also, Maryam Nawaz strongly condemned a bomb blast in Turbat, and paid rich tribute to all those who lost their precious lives in the explosion.
The CM was also aggrieved over the death of 5 young siblings in Gujrat and appealed to people to be careful in using gas heaters during cold weather.
