Roadmap finalised for Kalash valleys uplift

CHITRAL: The Kalash Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has finalised its strategic roadmap for the sustainable development of the three valleys.

To achieve this, a consultative workshop was held under Minhasuddin, director General of KVDA. The heads of line departments and representatives of NGOs operating in Chitral attended the meeting.

The primary objective was to finalise the roadmap and strategic plan using an integrated approach, focusing on short, medium, and long-term strategies across 11 key thematic sectors.

The roadmap was developed through extensive collaborative data collection, active community engagement, and contributions from relevant departments and partners. It included clearly defined sector-specific strategies and a detailed implementation framework.

The Strategic Roadmap and Visionary Plan was aligned in an effort to serve as a guiding document for all stakeholders. It addresses the needs of Kalash valleys while ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience.

At the meeting, the heads of government departments and development partners praised the document as a significant milestone. They emphasized the importance of collective efforts to achieve sustainable development and recognized the roadmap as an invaluable tool to identify community needs, bridge existing gaps, and implement actionable strategies across critical sectors with a clear execution mechanism.

Community elders underscored the need for an integrated, community-driven approach to ensure the sustainable growth of the region. The elders expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the government and partners in developing the three Kalash valleys-Bamburet, Berir and Rambur.
