Islamabad: An injured pangolin is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Rescue Centre of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board here.
The toothless mammal was rescued in an injured condition by a woman in Sector F-7/4, who then handed it over to IWMB officials. The officials immediately transferred the pangolin to the Rescue Centre for medical care.
Officials said that experts at the centre were providing the much-needed attention to ensure the pangolin's early and complete recovery from its injuries, followed by rehabilitation. They added that once fully recovered, the pangolin would be released back into its natural habitat at the Margalla Hills National Park, where it would continue to play its vital role in the ecosystem.
The officials urged people to support the IWMB in its efforts to conserve wildlife and raise awareness about the protection of endangered species in the region. They also encouraged residents to report any injured or endangered wildlife to the IWMB Rescue Centre for prompt assistance.
