Chicken meat sold at Rs750 to 1,200 per kg

LAHORE: The district government has been allegedly issuing 'fake' rate lists of chicken meat for the last one week, whereas rates of chicken remained unchanged in official rates, keeping them high in the market. The chicken meat sellers are not displaying rate list and refusing to sell chicken meat according to official rates.

For the last one week, the price of chicken was fixed at Rs397-411 per kg, but it was sold at Rs550-600 per kg on Sunday, and chicken meat was fixed at Rs595 per kg, and sold Rs750-1,200 per kg on Sunday. Lahore deputy commissioner was approached to get version on open violation of rate list and not changing the chicken meat rates for the last one week, but no response was received till filing of this report.

Open violation of official rate lists was also observed across the City as sellers kept overcharging, selling lower grade fruits and vegetables at A-grade rates. This exposes the lack of interest of the elected representatives and bureaucracy to resolve the basic public issues.

The price of potato soft skin A-grade was further reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs65-70 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg, B-grade at Rs55-60 per kg and C-grade at Rs46-50 per kg, mixed sold at Rs80 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade reached at Rs130-140 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, B-grade at Rs112-120 per kg, and C-grade at Rs102-110 per kg, mixed sold at Rs130-140 per kg. The price of tomato A-grade fixed at Rs168-185 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs150-165 per kg, and C-grade at Rs127-140 per kg, mixed sold at Rs180-200 per kg.

The price of garlic local fixed at Rs520-545 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic GI variety fixed at Rs340-355 per kg, sold at Rs400-450 per kg and Garlic China fixed at Rs558-585 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg. The price of both Ginger Thai and Chinese was fixed at Rs286-300 per kg, both sold at Rs450-600 per kg.

Cucumber Farm further fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. Brinjal price was fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Biter gourd gained fixed at Rs124-130 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg. The price Spinach fixed at Rs28-30 at Rs50-80 per kg. Zucchini farm fixed at 76-80 per kg, sold at Rs120-140 per kg, and Zucchini long fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Pumpkin was fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, not available. The lemon Chinese fixed at Rs62-65 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg. Green chili A grade further gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs145-150 per kg, Grene chili B-grade fixed at Rs95-100 kg, both sold at Rs200-240 per kg. Capsicum price was further gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs240-300 per kg. Price of cauliflower fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, cabbage fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold Rs100-120 per kg.

Carrot Chinese fixed at Rs138-145 per kg, sold at Rs350 per kg, carrot local fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg. Turnip was fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs50-60 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) fixed at Rs42-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Pea price was fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs150 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs30 per bundle. Radish was fixed at Rs23-25 per kg, sold at Rs30-50 per kg. Saag was fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg. Mongray was fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg. The price of different variety of apples gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs130-265 per kg, sold at Rs180-450 per kg. The price of Banana A-category gained by Rs25 per kg, at Rs130-155 per dozen, sold at Rs180-200 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs85-95 dozen, sold at Rs130-140 per dozen, and C-category at Rs53-60 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.

Guava was gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs110-140 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg.

Pomegranate danaydar fixed at Rs330-345 per kg, sold at Rs450-500 per kg, pomegranate kandahari further gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs270-390 per kg, sold at Rs300-450, pomegranate Bedana fixed at Rs515-540 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.

Dates were fixed at Rs355-430 per kg, sold at Rs600 to 1400 per kg.

Papaya fixed at Rs215-225 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.

Grapes Sunderkhani fixed at Rs276-290 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg, grapes gola fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs300-350 per kg, grapes tofi fixed at Rs262-275, sold at Rs400-500 per kg.

Musami was gained by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs100-135 per dozen, sold at Rs160-per dozen. Grapefruit was fixed at Rs28-30 per piece, sold at Rs35-40 per piece. Corn was fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs50-60 per kg.

Sweet potato fixed at Rs81-85 per kg, sold at Rs100-150 per kg. Kinow was fixed Rs100-250 per dozen, sold at Rs200-400 per dozen. Fruiter was increased by Rs17 per dozen, fixed at Rs75-165 per dozen, sold at Rs150-300 per dozen.
