LDA City dues submission date extended for one day

LAHORE : LDA has extended last date for submission of dues for the convenience of LDA City allottees till January 6.

On the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq, the date for submission of LDA City dues has been extended by one day for the convenience of the citizens. Challan forms for submission of development charges can be downloaded from the LDA website lda.gop.pk. Plot owners can get a printout of the challan form by entering their file number on the website. Plot owners can also submit their dues at the LDA Avenue One Citizen Facilitation Centre till Monday, January 6.

Meanwhile, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has presided over the first Planning and Design Committee meeting of the year here on Saturday. The meeting reviewed cases as per the rules.

In the meeting, the Director Town Planning concerned presented the cases of their respective zones. The cases of petrol pumps, educational institutions, coaching centres, health facilities, day care centres, rehabilitation centres, guest houses and other cases were reviewed and approved in the meeting. LDA DG Tahir Farooq directed that the recovery of penalty fees should be ensured before approving the cases in the P&D Committee. While issuing NOCs for schools, TEPA should keep in mind the court orders. Drop lanes should be ensured before approval in the cases of schools. In the meeting, LDA DG said that all formalities should be ensured before presenting the cases. He directed strict action against land use violations. He directed that the recovery of penalty from illegal commercial properties in the city should be ensured. Facilitation of business people along with this, compliance with the laws is very important. The meeting was attended by the Chief Metropolitan Planning, Chief Town Planner One, Chief Town Planner Two, ADCR, Deputy COMCL, TEPA, Wasa and Town Planning officers.

Meanwhile, LDA DG Tahir Farooq chaired a meeting on the working of the Housing Wing. The meeting reviewed the performance of the Citizen Facilitation Centre, Housing Directorate and Sifting Cell. LDA DG directed the officers to clear the pendency of the facilitation centre in the next two days. All housing directors should immediately clear the pendency of their respective areas. Housing and Sifting Cell officers should work together to make a plan for sifting the remaining records, said Tahir Farooq. He added that completing the sifting of non-sifted files was the top priority. Officers should present a plan for working on non-sifted files next week, LDA DG Tahir Farooq ordered and said citizens have started getting relief after the completion of sifting of 80,000 files. He said LDA completed the sifting of more than 65,000 files last year.

In the meeting, Director DG Headquarters Asif Hussain informed about the performance and problems of the Citizen Facilitation Centre. The meeting was attended by all the Directors of Housing, Directors of Citizen Facilitation Centre, Director LAC, Deputy Director IT and concerned officers.
