Adopted son held on woman’s murder charge

The Gadap Town investigation police have solved the mystery of the brutal murder of an elderly woman and arrested her adopted son in connection with the crime.

On December 6, 2024, the body of an elderly woman was found wrapped in a bedsheet with her hands and feet bound, abandoned in the bushes near the M-9 Motorway within the jurisdiction of Gadap City Police Station. Initially, the identity of the woman was not known, but a case was registered against unknown assailants, and investigations were launched.

During the investigation, the victim was identified as 81-year-old Suraya Bano, wife of Amjad Ali, and a resident of Korangi Rahimabad. She was a mother of two children.

The SIO Gadap City said the police arrested the accused, Iftikhar on Friday. Iftikhar confessed to the crime. He said the victim had entrusted him with Rs 2 million. However, when she demanded the return of the money to fund her son’s wedding, Iftikhar, who had suffered significant losses in his clothing business a year ago, killed her.
