KARACHI: Ultra marathoner and Asia Champion Jamal Said completed his impressive run on Friday, aimed at supporting several important causes. These included promoting the World Athlon Cricket League, encouraging healthy lifestyles, advocating for a drug-free country, boosting tourism, and raising awareness about environmental issues.

During his run, Jamal covered multiple routes across Karachi, showcasing his stamina and commitment to the cause. After finishing his run, Jamal reached the Karachi Press Club at 4:00 pm to officially conclude the event.

In an interview with The News International, Jamal Said explained, “The main goal of this run is to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth and encourage them to participate in marathons to stay active and fit.”

He also pointed out that Karachi is a developing city and urged young people to get involved in healthy activities like marathons. Jamal mentioned that his children would be taking part in the upcoming Karachi Marathon, and his son had been running both days in preparation for the event. “I hope my son improves his record,” he added. A key focus of Jamal’s run was to raise awareness about climate change. He emphasized the importance of tree planting, cleaning the atmosphere, and ensuring access to clean air. “We need to solve climate change issues by educating people about the importance of a clean environment,” he said.

Jamal expressed his hope that the government would support his efforts to promote marathons and raise awareness about these important causes across Pakistan. Looking ahead, Jamal is also hoping to win a medal this year by competing in various international marathons. In addition to his environmental and health-related goals, Jamal is also promoting the World Athlon Cricket League, which will take place next month. Last year, Jamal’s outstanding performance earned him a spot in the 2025 Backyard Ultra Championship, scheduled for October 2025 in Tennessee, USA.
