ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s senior leader Sher Afzal Marwat has made a startling revelation that multi-million rupees are being paid to lawyers who are fighting cases for the party founder chairman Imran Khan.
“It is in my knowledge that very recently, Ali Amin Khan paid Rs70 million,” he said in a video clip while talking to reporters. He emphasized that very heavy fees were being paid to the lawyers about which he had knowledge, adding that fees were so massive that Imran Khan’s one day in jail cost lakhs.
The outspoken PTI legislator, who often remains in the media due to his statements, insisted that he himself was a lawyer and knew how much fee to a lawyer was justifiable. “But one case is costing crores with regard to Imran,” he said.
He was of the view that there should have been negotiations about the lawyers’ fees which he did not consider justifiable despite the fact that the lawyers were involved with the consent of party founder. “I can’t call justifiable payment of crores of rupees in fees in a single case…but I know, Ali Amin Khan paid Rs70 million,” he maintained.
