Haj Policy 2025: Religious affairs ministry asked to address issues of stakeholders

Committee appoints sub-committee to resolve issues between ministry and stakeholders on Haj Policy 2025

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs, Malik Muhammad Aamir Dogar, has urged the Ministry of Religious Affairs to address genuine grievances of the stakeholders and facilitate them in accordance with the cabinet-approved Haj Policy 2025 and directives of Saudi authorities.

The Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony which met here on Thursday appointed a sub-committee to review the Service Provider Agreement (SPA) 2025 and resolve the issues between the ministry and stakeholders on Haj Policy 2025.

The secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony briefed the committee on the comprehensive Haj Policy 2025, measures taken for the swift arrangements by the ministry in Pakistan and KSA. The secretary also briefed the committee on the Service Provider Agreement (SPA) 2025. The committee discussed in detail the role of all the stakeholders in the process and observed some improvement in the draft SPA 2025. The chair urged the ministry to address the genuine grievances of the stakeholders and facilitate them in accordance with the cabinet-approved Haj Policy 2025 and KSA directives for a timely and smooth process of this holiest event. In this regard, the committee appointed a sub-committee to hear the point of view of both the parties, and submit its report to the main committee within five days. The sub-committee will comprise MNAs Syed Imran Ahmed Shah (convenor), Shagufta Jumani and Asiya Naz Tanoli.

The committee also directed to invite Sher Ali Arbab, MNA as a special invitee in the sub-committee meetings. The committee expressed concern on the selection process of hiring Moavineen and Nazim for Haj 2025 through the National Testing Services (NTS). The committee desired the ministry for arrangements of excellent training on ‘Haj Ahkamaat’.

The meeting was attended by MNAs Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, Shahnaz Saleem Malik, Asiya Naz Tanoli, Muneeba Iqball, Dr. Nelson Azeem, Mussarat Rafique Mahesar, Shagufta Jumani, Ahmed Saleem Siddiqi, Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq, Muhammad Bashir Khan, Mujahid Ali, and Syed Sami Ullah.

The meeting was also attended by Sher Ali Arbab, MNA and representatives of Haj operators, federal minister, secretary and senior officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony.
