MANSEHRA: Urging the cops to stay vigilant, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara Range, Nasir Mehmood Satti on Thursday said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police had provided equal employment opportunities to women, who constitute half of the country’s population.

“Women are working shoulder-to-shoulder with their male counterparts in the line of duty. We are also going to establish daycare centres so they can take care of their children while fulfilling their professional responsibilities,” he told a police darbar here.

Accompanied by District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur, the DIG also inaugurated a tree plantation drive at the police lines. He said that the KP police were taking all possible measures for the welfare of their personnel and their families.

“Your promotions will soon be finalised after the completion of all formalities,” he added. He said that the police force had a proud legacy of sacrificing their lives to protect foreigners and citizens. “You must remain vigilant and ensure foolproof security for tourists and Chinese workers executing development projects in your and the rest of the division,” Satti said.

He said that the country’s enemies wanted to derail and sabotage such mega energy development projects and deter the influx of national and international visitors from enjoying the natural beauty of this region.
