CM Khelta Punjab Games: Excellent measures for upcoming sports ordered
LAHORE: All the administrators and hostel in-charges of Nishtar Park Sports Complex have been directed to make the excellent arrangements for upcoming Inter-Division phase of Chief Minister Khelta Punjab Games.
Top class facilities including top standard food and sufficient resources to combat chilly weather should be provided to the participating athletes during these games. DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry issued these directions while presiding over a meeting of the administrators of different stadiums and sports venues at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, administrators of tennis Stadium, Punjab International Swimming Complex, National Hockey Stadium, NPSC Gymnasium Hall and hostel in-charges attended the meeting.
All the administrators and hostel in-charges briefed the DG Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab about the accommodation of the players and other facilities. In the briefing, they said that there are around 500 rooms in National Hockey Stadium, Tennis Stadium and Punjab International Swimming Complex hostels for the accommodation of male and female athletes during the Inter-Division phase of CM Khelta Punjab Games.
Khizar said Sports Board Punjab will leave no stone unturned in its preparations for the divisional phase, the third and final of the CM Khelta Punjab Games. Khizar disclosed that a whopping Rs 100 million in cash prizes will be distributed among the top performers in the Games. He highlighted the importance of the Khelta Punjab Games in fostering a robust sports culture across the province. The Khelta Punjab Games are set to showcase Punjab’s vibrant sporting talent while emphasising the government's commitment to promoting sports at all levels.
UVAS to give veterinary services to Polo Club
The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lahore Polo Club to provide veterinary & disease diagnostics services for the treatment of sick/injured horses of the Polo Club and internship & research for UVAS students.
Under the MoU, UVAS will provide veterinary facilities through regular vet visit (stable, check hygiene, sick horses for treatment), UVAS equine diagnostic lab (blood sample collection, blood parasites tests, fecal test) & round the clock extension services for emergency cases to Polo Club.
Lahore Polo Club will allow UVAS students for internship at club to gain hands-on experience in equine management & veterinary care and UVAS postgraduate students will also conduct research at the club.
Later, the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore signed another MoU with Tang Chinese Education & Technology Limited for the promotion of education cooperation.
