LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed her interest in strengthening collaboration with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in agriculture, information technology, green energy and other sectors.
During a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Hammad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi on Monday, the chief minister discussed economic cooperation, development projects and promotion of tourism in Punjab. She agreed to a proposal to establish a working group between Punjab and the UAE to elevate bilateral cooperation and invited UAE investors to explore opportunities in Punjab. She assured them of special incentives and a conducive business environment. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz appreciated the UAE’s support in Pakistan’s socio-economic development. “We value the UAE’s contributions to infrastructure, health, education, and energy sectors.” She emphasized that Pakistan-UAE relations are rooted in mutual trust and respect, adding, “Pakistan and the UAE share a common vision for regional stability and prosperity.”
The UAE ambassador congratulated the chief minister on her successful visit to China and praised her leadership in ongoing development projects and climate change initiatives. He remarked, “The UAE envisions a developed Pakistan and stands firmly with its government and people on this journey.” He further expressed the UAE’s willingness to undertake more projects in Pakistan, highlighting the Punjab government’s commitment to sustainable development through public-private partnerships.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has extended her best wishes to the newly-elected President of the Lahore Press Club, Arshad Ansari, and other office-bearers following their successful election. She expressed the hope that the new leadership would work tirelessly for the welfare of Lahore’s journalist community.
