PPP vows to safeguard Pakistan's nuclear, missile programme
“Pakistan's nuclear program has been moving forward for many years," says Palwasha Khan
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party on Monday vowed that it would not allow any conspiracy of the enemy against Pakistan's nuclear and missile program to succeed.
“Pakistan is under the target of internal and external enemies of the country, some forces are actively working against Pakistan's nuclear and missile program,” said PPP leaders Senator Palwasha Khan and Barrister Aamir Hassan while addressing a press conference here at the PPP Secretariat. Palwasha said attempts were being made to break the fort from within and people inside were being used. “There is the need to understand conspiracies against the nuclear program. Pakistan's decisions will be made within Pakistan. Sanctions were imposed earlier but nothing happened. We have to protect our nuclear program,” she said.
“Pakistan's nuclear program has been moving forward for many years. Why did the US suddenly start objecting to its missile program?” she asked, adding that the PPP would protect Pakistan's nuclear program as the country could not afford any crisis at this time.
Terming the civil disobedience movement of the PTI against the country, she said it aimed at damaging the economy. These are the same people who held America responsible for overthrowing their government and are now seeking their help. The Hamood-ur-Rehman Commission Report came during the PPP era, but it never targeted the country's institutions under the guise of this report. The chaos being spread in the country is aimed at shutting down the nuclear program.
Talking about PPP reservations with the federal government, she said the PPP was asking the PMLN to make decisions after consultation. Aamir Hassan said those who were sloganeering that they were not slaves were now looking at the US. He accused the PTI of creating chaos in the country. He said a lobby was conspiring against Pakistan. This is not just Pakistan's nuclear program but the Islamic world's that everyone is proud of.
