Workshop on research tools, techniques hosted
Islamabad: The Centre for Languages and Translation Studies at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) organized a comprehensive training workshop titled Tools & Techniques for Research. The event aimed to enhance the technical and academic skills of researchers and academics, enabling them to tackle modern research challenges effectively, says a press release.
Najeeb Rehman, Assistant Professor at the University of Gujrat, served as the resource person for the workshop. He delivered an in-depth, hands-on session focusing on advanced research tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, and Bitsoftware. These tools, essential for citation management, bibliographic organization, and collaborative academic work, were demonstrated with practical examples, giving participants an opportunity to enhance their research workflows.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the Director of the Centre for Languages and Translation Studies. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of such training workshops in fostering a culture of research excellence and innovation in academia. The program was gracefully hosted by Fariha, who ensured a seamless flow of activities throughout the event.
In his concluding remarks, Professor Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan Abbasi lauded Najeeb Rehman for his insightful session and expressed gratitude on behalf of AIOU. He acknowledged the efforts of the organising team and emphasized the university’s commitment to facilitating professional development opportunities for researchers and educators.
