Education University awards PhD to scholar

The University of Education Lahore has awarded a PhD degree to one of its doctoral scholars from the Department of Economics, Division of Management and Administrative Sciences Ms Amber Pervaiz who successfully defended her thesis titled 'Striving for Sustainability: A Study of Energy, Water, and Resource Consumption Behavior of Households.'

According to a press release, Ms Amber conducted her research under the supervision of Dr Asim Iqbal, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department. The public defence session commenced with an opening address by the Division’s Director, Prof Dr Muhammad Shahid Tufail, and was attended by over 50 participants, including external examiners, subject experts, Doctoral Advisory Committee members, and fellow researchers. During her presentation, Ms Amber highlighted the factors influencing consumers' sustainable energy, water, and resource recycling behaviours. Her findings demonstrated that sustainable consumption intentions and preferences directly predict behaviour, while attitudes and perceived behavioral control act as indirect predictors. She revealed that consumer preferences enhance the relationship between sustainable consumption intentions and actual behaviours, helping to bridge the intention-behaviour gap.
